Recording to USB drive
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:13:37 am »
With the DTVS-DSR1, you can attach a USB memory key or a USB Hard Disk Drive and enable the receiver to record television programmes. After attaching the USB memory key or HDD, you must format the media via the receiver to enable recording. The format process will delete everything on the attached USB memory key or HDD and will prepare your device to allow recording. To do this, please follow these steps:

a) Attach the USB memory key or USB HDD to the receiver.
b) Navigate to Media Manager.
c) Select Media Information
d) Select "Format" drive by pressing the RED button.
e) The receiver will prompt you for a password. The default password is 0000
f) Enter the password and proceed.
g) Please wait for the format to complete. This can take some time and depends on the size of the USB device attached.
h) Once complete, the USB device will show as "Proprietary"

Some more information:
1) Once you have formatted the USB device on the receiver, please do not attempt to view contents on a PC. You may lose the contents as teh format is different.
2) Recordings made on the DTVS-DSR1 can only be played back on a DTVS-DSR1.
3) You can only record one channel at a time and what you are watching.
